The Easiest & Best BBQ Possible

For many of you, after reading this article/recipe, you may think,":What the hell, this isn't new. I've been dong it for years." However, for me, and maybe a few of you, this was a completely new idea.  I have thought about if for a few weeks and decided to gamble - gamble on possibly ruining a chuck roast. Turns out, it was a great success.  As a party planner, it would be wonderful for large groups. Everyone can make their own sandwich and it is always hot and satisfying. For a quick and easy dinner while you and your partner are watching a special movie, it tastes great and the clean-up is easy. Leaving time for the important evening partner things. . So here it is...

Just thought I would try this the other day and it was FANTASTIC!

All you need is: Chuck Roast, Crock Pot, BBQ Sauce. That's all folks

Step 1: Buy a chuck roast and cut it into 2" chunks. Cooks evenly this way and the flavor is even throughout.

Step 2: Place chunks in crock put with a little salt and pepper.

Step 3: Cove with your favorite BBQ sauce. You see what I use. Spending most of my adult years in the South, where BBQ is a religion, I add some favorite ingredients and water it down a little. Cook on High for a couple of hours and then reduce to low for the remaining 8 hours.

Step 4: When done, spoon the chunks into a (I use) square or rectangular baking dish with at least 2" sides. Take a couple forks and shred the hell out of each piece. Do NOT chop - shred! Add a little sauce from the crock pot - A Little!

Step 4: I make my own coleslaw dressing, using Sandra's family-secret ingredients.  You need coleslaw. For this treat, we used "slider" buns. For a little different taste you can have red slaw handy. Pile the BBQ. Generous amount of slaw.

A couple squirts or more of hot sauce and you have one easy and delicious dish for your own indulgence or for friends.

I make my own hot sauce from Ghost Peppers - Buht Jolokia's. Be careful growing, handling or making sauce with these truly bad boys. They have a 1,000,000 rating on the Scoville chart, while Tabasco's rate between  30,000 – 50,000. NEVER eat these individually like you might jalapenos - unless you have a reservation for the ER. I mean it!

This is truly a great and EASY recipe that produces animal sounds from those who indulge. I plan on trying pork (obviously) and even chicken. This way I keep my friends in the South happy with the pork. My friends in Texas happy with the beef. And my chicken lover friends happy, wherever they congregate.

When it comes to shrimp...I will always stand by a traditional Mississippi Po Boy. Sandra's grandmother's recipe, which came from Biloxi, Mississippi.

So now my friends. Go cook up a batch of Michael's  Chuck Roast BBQ. Build your slider with a generous amount of slaw. Add your hot sauce. A good dill pickle, chips, and get ready t make small muffled animal sounds.

Simple. Easy. Feeds a crowd...or one very hungry man. Fast Clean-up.

Until next time...

Michael
